On March 15, President Louie Aseoche and Director Andrew Prieto motored north-west of Makati, to Malabon, to conduct a health mission designed to benefit seniors, a minority group that is sometimes overlooked and neglected.
PP Cesar Campos and his son Jun, who run a family-owned health facility in the city, requested the mission as they wanted to pay attention to this underserved sector. The Camposes, together with members of the Rotary Club of Malabon led by President Ernie Sia, welcomed Pres. Louie and Dir. Andrew.
The mission was a joint undertaking with RC Malabon, a brother club of ours, and the Campos-owned PolyHealth. Its direct beneficiaries were 150 seniors who each received a box of 100 multivitamin/mineral tablets. Thirty-five of the beneficiaries also availed themselves of free consultation and lab work at the PolyHealth.
During the short program preceding the distribution of the nutrient supplements, PP Cesar gave an overview of the project, while Pre Louie spoke of the care and concern of RC Makati for seniors. For his part, Dir. Andrew gave the seniors instructions on the proper intake of supplements and explained to them the importance of nutritious meals to overall health. Pres. Sia delivered a brief message on behalf of his club, expressing thanks to RC Makati.
The project ended with the distribution of food packs to the participants courtesy of RC Malabon
